New looks, Name to Hit Gada.be

Sunday, June 25, 2006

Gada.be, a popular meta-search engine run by Chris Pirillo, will be getting a whole new re-design, as well as a new name at the Gnomedex conference in Seattle later this week (Chris Pirillo also runs Gnomedex). Gada.be allows users to search through 200 search engines, subscribe to every result via RSS, and output an OPML (Outline Processor Markup Language) for every query. The new service will be known as TagJag (And will be located at TagJag.com), and like Gada.be, will be easily accessible by mobile devices. TechCrunch scored screenshots of the TagJag interface and the homepage. Gada.be, which launched in October 2005, serves around 30,000 queries daily. More information about the service can be found at the About page on Gada.be.

Update: Pete Cashmore notes that there are other services like Gada.be in a recent blog post. These include Tagground, Gnosh, and Inquisitor. TagFetch, which also has a re-design in the works, also makes the list. The Bloggers Blog and Rev2 also covered the news.
